Morshi. Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company is taking action to cut the electricity connections of farmers even after the announcement was made by the Deputy Chief Minister of the state Ajit Pawar. Power supply of 35 DPs of Morshi city and Tehsil was broken.
On which the farmers were furious, on Friday, under the leadership of former Agriculture Minister Dr. Anil Bonde, a Satyagraha movement was organized in front of the office of the power company. As long as the broken power supply is not smooth, then we will not move from here. Tension had increased for some time after the agitators took this role. Riot control squads were deployed in the city from 9 am.
No pump, yet the bill is 1.5 lakh
The Morshi, Varood region is known as the California of Oranges. At present water is necessary to save the Ambia Bahar of oranges. But the electricity distribution company has started cutting the electricity connections of the farmers. Due to which there is a fear of crop failure. Along with this, water is also necessary for onion fields. But injustice is being done by cutting off the connections of farmers.
This is very unfortunate for the farmers. Giving information about the mismanagement of the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company, the farmers present on the occasion said that the farmers who do not have a motor pump, have also received a bill of one and a half lakh rupees. He also gave information about many such farmers on the spot.
Hail thrice in 8 days
Farmers have been badly affected due to hailstorm and storm thrice in the last 8 days in the area. Presently is the season of Ambiya Bahar and Onion planting. But the government closed the DP of farmers’ fields at the last moment. Due to this, the farmers are suffering huge losses. To which attention was demanded.
