Chandrapur, Savali, Gondpipri, Korpana, and Sindewahi – In the elections of the six municipal councils, Savali, Pombhurna, Gondpipri, Korpana, Jiwati, Sindewahi_Lonwahi, the Congress has won in Lonwahi, while the BJP has captured Pombhurna. While the hung situation remains in Jivati.
Parent minister Vijay Wadettiwar and Rajura’s MLA have contributed to this success of the Congress. On the other hand, MLA Sudhir Mungantiwar has been successful in saving his stronghold in the victory of BJP.
Elections were held for a total of 102 seats in the district. Out of which Congress has won 53, BJP 24, Shiv Sena 6, NCP 8, Gongpa 5, Vanchit 2 and Others 4 seats. In Savli, Congress 14, BJP 3 seats, Pombhurna BJP 10, Congress 1, Shiv Sena 4 Deprived 2 seats, Gondpipri Congress 7, BJP 4, NCP 2, Shiv Sena 2 seats, Others 2 In Korpanna Congress 12, BJP 4, other 1 seat, in Jiwati, Congress has got 6, NCP has got 6 and Gondwana Gantantra Party has got 5 seats. Whereas in Sindewahi_Lonwahi, Congress has got 13 seats, BJP has got 3 and others have got 1 seats.
Savali and Sindewahi_Lonwahi town panchayats come under the Bramhapuri constituency. Guardian minister Vijay Wadettiwar is the MLA from here. The foster minister stunned his opponents here. The Rajura constituency was comprised of the inner Korpana, Jivati and Gondpipri town panchayats. Congress has won here too.
Congress’s Rajura MLA has succeeded in saving his stronghold. In the only Pombhurna, the Congress has had to face defeat. Pombhurna is the stronghold of MLA Sudhir Mungantiwar, he has been successful in maintaining his supremacy in his constituency.
