New Delhi: Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain on Wednesday said that the government will take three to four days to confirm the trend of infection rate before easing the restrictions in the national capital. Will assess the situation.
He said that around 13 thousand cases of COVID-19 can be reported in Delhi on Wednesday and the infection rate can be 24 percent. On the question of lifting restrictions in the city, the minister said, “The infection rate of COVID-19 has come down from 30 percent to 22.5 percent. The infection rate should be half of that. We will assess the situation for three-four days now.”

According to the data, 11,684 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Delhi on Tuesday and the infection rate was 22.47 percent. At the same time, 12,527 new cases of COVID-19 were reported on Monday and 24 people died due to infection, while the infection rate was 27.99 percent. On the question of low testing rate in Delhi, he said that no one is being denied COVID-19 test and officials are following the guidelines issued by the Centre.
He said, “He says that people who came in contact with patients with high symptoms of COVID-19 and who have symptoms of infection, they should get tested. On Tuesday, he clarified that all places should be investigated at the community level, which we are doing.” Jain said that for the last six months, 50 to 60 thousand tests are being done daily in Delhi.
