Yavatmal, The National Pulse Polio Vaccination Campaign for children up to five years of age is being implemented from 23 January. On this occasion, District Magistrate Amol Yedge directed to ensure that children of urban and rural areas as well as remote areas like Itabhatta, Gannatudai Kamgar Basti, Bhed Pashupalak, Pod, Pade, Tande and urban slum children get polio vaccination. District Magistrate Amol Yedge gave information to take special care of not being deprived of it.
In connection with the National Pulse Polio Vaccination Campaign, a meeting of the District Action Force was held under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Yedge at the Revenue Building of the District Magistrate’s office today. On this occasion, Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad Dr. Srikrishna Panchal, District Surgeon Tarangtushar Ware, District Health Officer Dr. P.S. Chavan, District Information Officer Manisha Sawale, District Immunization Officer Dr. Suhas Kore, Chief Officer Madhuri Madavi were present.
District Magistrate Yedge further said that the training of health supervisors for polio vaccination should be completed and in case of polio vaccination, the use of hand gloves and masks by health workers as well as adherence to the COVID trio will be mandatory for all. The District Magistrate said that the eligible health workers involved in the polio campaign should take corona booster dose from January 10 and go door-to-door for the polio campaign to increase awareness about the COVID vaccine.
District Magistrate Yedge appealed to the people to come forward for corona vaccination of children above 18 years of age along with other vaccinations of children. On the day of Pulse Polio Vaccination, all the department heads of the Zilla Parishad would be sent to the Tehsil wise booths for supervision, Shri Krishna Panchal gave such information.
District Immunization Officer Dr. Suhas Kore presented the plan of Pulse Polio Vaccination. Out of total 2700 booths in the district, 2381 rural and 319 urban booths will be given polio dose. For this, the service of 6644 manpower like ANM, MPW, Anganwadi Sevika and Asha worker etc. will be taken.
Apart from this, polio vaccination will be done by 167 transit teams at railway stations, bus stops and checkposts and by 124 mobile teams in various risk zones. He said that a target of polio vaccination has been set to 2 lakh 51 thousand 504 potential beneficiaries in the age group of 0 to 5 years.
Medical Officer Rama Bajoria, Zilla Parishad Women and Child Welfare Officer Prashant Thorat, representatives of social organizations Dr. Vrushali Mane, Manik Mere, Dinesh Raja, Prashant Patil and concerned officers were present in this meeting.
