Mumbai : The Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced to apply booster dose to all health workers, frontline workers and citizens above 60 years of age in Mumbai. The central government had directed the BMC to apply booster doses to corona frontline workers and citizens above 60 years of age.
BMC, 302 in government hospitals and 149 in private hospitals will be vaccinated at 451 vaccination centers for applying booster doses. In Mumbai, 1 crore 17 thousand 317 citizens have been given the first dose of corona and 81 lakh 76 thousand 321 citizens have been given the second dose of corona vaccine. The Working Group of National Technical Advisory Group of Immunization (NTAG) Standing Technical Scientific Committee (STSC) suggested increasing vaccination due to corona and oomicron variants spreading in the world.

- From January 10, all health workers, Covid frontline workers, citizens above 60 years of age, citizens suffering from any disease will be given a precocious dose.
- Those above 60 years of age who are suffering from any disease will not need to show any certificate at the vaccination centre.
- All citizens will be vaccinated free of cost.
- Those who want to get vaccinated in a private hospital can get vaccinated at a pre-announced cost.
- Health workers, frontline workers who are below 60 years of age and who have been categorized as citizens on the Kovin app. Vaccination of such people will be done through onsite method only at government immunization centers.
