Under this feature, users can make instant payment through their Paytm registered card. For this, users will have to tap their phone on the POS machine. This ‘Tap to Pay’ service has been launched for Android as well as iOS users, through which Paytm all-in-one POS devices and POS machines of other banks can make payments. Users can easily activate the ‘Tap to Pay’ service by using their debit or credit cards saved on the Paytm app. Here we have explained stepwise the complete way to use ‘Tap to Pay’ option on Paytm app.
- Select the correct card from the card list or click on “Add New Card” on the ‘Tap to Pay’ home screen.
- After the next screen is opened, enter the required card details in it
- Accept the card issuer’s Terms of Service for Tap to Pay.
- OTP will be sent to your mobile number (or email ID) registered with the card.
- After filling the OTP, you can see the activated card at the top of the Tap to Pay home screen.

Card details are not shared with third parties
Paytm converts the selected card’s 16 digit primary account number (PAN) into a secure transaction code or digital identity. Through this the card payment is secure. In this, the card details of the user are with the user and it is not shared with any third party payment processor. Under this, the user will not need to share his card details with anyone for making payments at retail outlets and can easily make payments through POS devices. Through this, payment can be made at all retail outlets where there are card machines. The card can be managed through a dedicated dashboard on the Paytm app. Through the dashboard, users can change or de-tokenize the card as and when required.
