Negi was born on 6 January 1993 in Delhi. He is originally from Uttarakhand. Negi started his cricket career from Delhi. He is a slow left arm bowler.
international career
Negi made his Twenty20 International debut for the India national cricket team against the United Arab Emirates in the 2016 Asia Cup at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on 3 March 2016. He was selected in the Indian team for the ICC T20 World Cup 2016. To date it is his only international cap.
Negi’s T20 IPL career
Negi was bought by Delhi Daredevils in the 2012 Indian Premier League auction. He was associated with 2013 Delhi. Chennai Super Kings included him in their team in 2014, after which he played for the team till 2015. But, in the 2016 IPL season, he again joined the Delhi team.
He was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore in the auction held in February 2017 and played for RCB from 2017 to 2019. He got back into action in February 2021 where he was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders. But he did not play a single match in the competition. KKR bought him for IPL 2021 for his base price of 50 lakhs.
Uttarakhand’s seventh international cricketer
Negi may have started his cricket career from Delhi. But being originally from Uttarakhand, he also got the name of Uttarakhand attached to him. Negi is the seventh cricketer from Uttarakhand to have played international cricket. Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Rishabh Pant, Manish Pandey, Ekta Bisht, Unmukt Chand before Negi. However, the family of Pandey, Dhoni, Unmukt originally came from Uttarakhand and settled in Delhi, Jharkhand.
