Officials said that the case is part of a conspiracy to separate Punjab from the Union of India by Multani, along with several other pro-Khalistan elements based abroad, to radicalize, incite and recruit youth in the state at the grassroots level. and is related to promoting their ideology through online social media platforms.
Officials said they have been involved in raising funds to buy arms, ammunition and explosives using smuggling networks in Punjab to revive militancy in the state. Officials said Multani has also been in touch with the operatives of Pakistani intelligence agency ISI to carry out terror attacks in Mumbai and other parts of the country. He said that the registration of the case would help the government to take necessary action as per law so that Multani could either be deported or extradited to India.
