Mumbai : In the winter session of the Maharashtra Legislature, the issue of insulting the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, echoed in the Assembly on Monday. Cabinet Minister Nawab Malik said that the fake Baba Kalicharan in Chhattisgarh insulted the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and the people of the country would not tolerate it. He alleged that after the Modi government came to the center, a campaign to insult Mahatma Gandhi has started.
Malik said that it is preliminary information that Kalicharan Maharaj is a resident of Akola, so I will register a case in this regard with the state home minister and demand the arrest of Baba. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar promised strict action against those involved. Senior BJP leader Sudhir Mungantiwar said that his party also strongly condemns the use of hate speech against the Father of the Nation Gandhi. However, he took a jibe at cabinet minister Malik and said that if he has a government in the state, then why is there a delay in taking action. Mungantiwar asked why Kalicharan has not been arrested yet.

Congress State President Nana Patole said that Kalicharan Baba, a resident of Akola, has insulted the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi by using very low level language. In such a situation, a case of sedition should be filed against this Baba and punished immediately. Many countries around the world consider Gandhi’s ideas as ideal and follow him, but it is condemnable that some people in our own country deliberately misrepresent him and use abusive language against him.
