- Sunday evening incident
Amravati, In two separate accidents in the city on Sunday evening, 1 retired worker died, while 2 youths were seriously injured. This incident happened in Rajapeth and Fraserpura police station area. In this sequence, a crane crushed the retired soldier who had gone cycling in the Rajapeth area.
Due to which he died after being crushed in the crane. The incident happened late on Sunday evening in front of Hotel Lord on MIDC Bypass Road. The deceased is Duryodhana Borkar (67, Ganpati Nagar). Duryodhana Borkar, a resident of Ganpati Nagar of Rajapeth police station area, went out for cycling late Sunday evening as usual. Shortly after coming in front of Mirchi Hotel on the bypass road, he was hit by a crane (MH-27/AC 9616) going from MIDC towards Dastur Nagar.

The accident was so severe that the crane dragged Duryodhana Borkar for about 20 meters. Due to which Duryodhana died at the place of Borkar. Information Rajapeth police immediately reached there. Crane driver Rohit Singh Dhurandharsig (21, Amar Nagar, Hingna, Nagpur) was taken into custody. The body was sent for post-mortem after doing a panchnama of the spot. A case was registered against the crane driver at the Rajapeth police station.
Collision between bike and four wheeler, 2 youths injured
Similarly, in another incident, a four wheeler hit a bike coming from the opposite direction near Topaz Hotel on Chandur Railway Road. In which two youths were injured. The accident happened late on Sunday evening. The injured are Sonu Shah Habib Shah (30, Noorani Chowk) and Sheikh Ansar Sheikh Asif (30, Noorani Chowk).
Sonu Shah, along with his friend Sheikh Ansar, had gone to the shrine of Pohra in a Bajaj Pulsar (MH 30 BK 7614) when they were hit by a four wheeler near Topaz Hotel while returning from here. In which the legs of both the youths were badly injured. Out of which Sheikh Ansar was admitted to Nuira Hospital in Nagpur as his condition was critical. Fraserpura police have registered a case.
