Thane. Two weeks after a man was found dead and his wife was seriously injured in a flat in Kalyan in Thane district of Maharashtra, the police have arrested their son. A police officer gave this information on Friday. The accused Lokesh Banoria (27) was arrested on Thursday and was produced before a local court, Inspector Pradeep Patil of Mahatma Phule police station said.
The court sent him to two-day police custody. Banoria is accused of killing his parents due to a domestic dispute. The accused Banoria after killing the father also tried to kill the mother. Later he himself tried to commit suicide. According to the police, Lokesh’s father Pramod Banoria, 58, was a retired motorman of the Railways. His body was found lying in a pool of blood in his flat on Sunday, December 10. Lokesh’s mother Kusum (52) was also lying in a pool of blood with stab wounds. Lokesh was also found in an injured condition.
According to the police officer, the accused called up the watchman of the society and asked him to bring an ambulance to take his injured mother to the hospital. Suspecting something wrong, the watchman alerted the neighbours. Neighbors informed the police about the incident. After that Lokesh and his mother were admitted to the hospital. Lokesh had told the police that his father committed suicide after trying to kill him and his mother. During the detailed investigation of the case, it was revealed that there was a longstanding dispute between Lokesh and his father. Due to this, Lokesh allegedly killed his father by slitting his throat.
When Lokesh’s mother tried to intervene, he also attacked his mother. Later he himself tried to commit suicide. Lokesh’s mother Kusum died in the hospital last Friday. After being discharged from the hospital, the police registered a case of murder and arrested Lokesh. According to Patil, Lokesh was troubled by his father’s drinking addiction and his habit of beating other family members and wanted to get rid of all this.
