According to information received in IT Raid, Samajwadi Party leaders have evaded tax of about Rs 244 crore with the help of hawala and shell (fake) companies. At the same time, about Rs 1.12 crore in cash was also seized.
Lucknow: A large number of undeclared assets have been found in the Income Tax Department raid on the close of Samajwadi Party supremo Akhilesh Yadav. According to the IT department, undeclared assets worth more than eight hundred crores have been detected in the raids in 30 locations including Lucknow, Kolkata, Mainpuri. The SP leader raised assets worth thousands of crores through hawala. At the same time, a close aide of Akhilesh has also accepted the allegation of undeclared assets.
It is to be known that in the past, the IT department has located two houses of Akhilesh’s close friend Jainendra Singh alias Neetu Yadav in Gomtinagar, the posh area of Lucknow, as well as the residence of Samajwadi Party National Secretary Rajiv Rai in Mau and offices in Bangalore and Delhi, besides in Mainpuri. The residence and establishment of Manoj Yadava was raided. The documents were confiscated by the Income Tax Department team during this raid which lasted for about 40 hours.
