Bhiwandi : As a supplementary business of agriculture, the farmers of rural areas of Bhiwandi do Brick Kiln business in their fields. In rural areas, brick kilns are on a large scale in villages like Tebhavli, Junandurkhi, Lakhivali, Palivali, Dhamne, Chimbipada, Paye, Paygaon, Kharbao, Malodi, Khardi, Kongaon, Pimplas, Supegaon, Ambadi etc.
It may be noted that cement bricks and Sephorex bricks have already paralyzed the clay bricks business. After that the brick kiln business has come into financial trouble due to the Corona crisis. Brick kiln owners have suffered huge financial losses due to unseasonal rains. As a result, the tribal laborers dependent on this occupation are also facing economic difficulties.

Villagers who run several brick kilns in rural areas have started their own brick kiln business by taking interest from moneylenders and pledged jewellery. Therefore, there is a demand of the brick kiln owners that the government should make a Panchnama of the damage caused by the unseasonal rains and provide financial help as compensation to the brick kiln traders. The Konkan Divisional Brick Producers and Drivers Association has met Revenue Minister Balasaheb Thorat for the demand of waiving royalty for the current year 2021-22 and demanded financial assistance. Guidance to Brick Kiln Owners
The government gives 50 percent rebate in royalty to brick kiln owners. However, at present the government does not give financial compensation to the brick kiln owners. Government amount of ownership is not paid by many brick kiln owners. Some do not even know the rules in this regard. Recently a meeting of brick kiln owners was called. In this meeting, Patil said that he has given guidance to the brick kiln owners regarding government terms and conditions as well as business.
