Government oil companies today (October 16, 2021) increased the prices of petrol and diesel again. The prices of both have been increased by 35-35 paise. Petrol prices have gone above Rs 100 in many states. Petrol prices in the country’s capital Delhi have reached Rs 105.49 per liter, while in Mumbai it is being sold at Rs 114.43 per liter. The price of diesel in Rajdhani is Rs 93.22 per liter, while in Mumbai it is selling at Rs 97.33 per liter. Petrol in Chennai is selling at Rs 102.70 a liter and diesel is being sold at Rs 98.59 a liter.
Petrol prices have increased 15 times since the end of September
In the last week of September, the process of non-increasing prices of petrol and diesel was broken for three weeks. Since then, this is the 15th increase in the price of petrol and the 18th increase in the price of diesel. The price of petrol has crossed Rs 100 in most of the states in the country. But diesel has also crossed Rs 100 in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Kerala, Karnataka and Kerala.
Brent crude price at $84.4 per barrel
Government oil companies started increasing the prices of petrol and diesel again from 6 October. After the continuous increase in the price of crude oil in the international market, the oil companies started putting the burden on the customers. International Brent crude prices have risen to $ 84.4 per barrel. Petrol prices started increasing after 28 September, while diesel prices started increasing from 24 September. Since then the price of diesel has increased by Rs 5.6 and that of petrol by Rs 4.30 per liter. Petrol prices have increased by Rs 11.44 per liter between May 4 and July 17. At the same time, the price of diesel has increased by Rs 9.14 during this period.
