Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi
Pakistan on Kashmir Issue: Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has written another letter to the United Nations. In which he has once again sung the Kashmir raga. Qureshi has said that it is India’s responsibility to create a conducive environment for talks between the two countries and the decision taken on Jammu and Kashmir on August 5, 2019, should be reversed. On 5 August 2019, India abolished the special status of Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 and bifurcated it into two union territories. Which will complete two years on Thursday.
Qureshi has addressed the United Nations Security Council and the United Nations Secretary-General in the letter. After this big step of the Indian government, Pakistan had suspended the bilateral trade relationship with India (Pakistan India Relation Kashmir Issue). At the same time, in his letter, Qureshi asked the UNSC to fulfill its responsibility. Although this is not the first time Pakistan has done this, but it keeps raising the issue of Kashmir during every international forum or bilateral talks.
What did Qureshi say in the letter?
According to the Pakistani Foreign Ministry, the Foreign Minister said, ‘It is India’s responsibility to create a better environment for dialogue. To create such an environment, India must reverse all unilateral and illegal actions taken in Jammu and Kashmir, including those initiated on and after 5 August 2019 (Pakistan India Relation Kashmir Issue). The demographic changes introduced in Jammu and Kashmir should be quashed. Earlier too, India had told Pakistan that any issue related to Jammu and Kashmir is its (India) internal matter and it is capable of resolving its problems.
Pakistan’s speech on PoK stopped
India also said that it wants normal neighborly relations with Pakistan, however the environment should be free from terrorism, violence and enmity. Two days ago, as soon as India took over as the President of the United Nations Security Council, India has put its stand regarding Jammu and Kashmir in front of the world (Pakistan on Kashmir Latest News). India’s Permanent Representative and Chairman of the Security Council for the month of August TS Tirumurti reminded a Pakistani journalist of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) when the issue of Kashmir was raised. Tirumurti said that Pakistan will have to remove the illegal occupation from it.
