France’s Cordouan Lighthouse – The 68-meter-long Cordouan Lighthouse is considered to be the oldest such lighthouse in France in today’s time. It was designed by the engineer Louis de Fox and has been in operation since 1611. The lighthouse is situated on a rocky plateau, accessible only by boat.

New Dutch Waterline of the Netherlands – It was developed as a kind of defense network (New Dutch Waterline).
