Karnataka is almost certain to get the next chief minister. Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has announced his resignation from his post on the second anniversary of his government in the state. He has given information about this decision at a function organized on the occasion of the second anniversary of his government. He said that after lunch he will meet Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot regarding this. For the past few days, there were speculations that Yeddyurappa might resign from his post. However, a day earlier, BJP President JP Nadda had said that there was no crisis on the government in Karnataka and praised Yeddyurappa for his work.

Yeddyurappa, the current Chief Minister of Karnataka, went to Delhi on July 16-17, about 10 days ago. There he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP President JP Nadda. On his return from there, he had said that he would follow the orders of the party. He, however, refused to name his successor and said it was up to the party’s high command to decide to whom he entrusts the state.
