As per the directives of the UAE Government, the country’s flagship carrier Emirates has extended the suspension of flights to Dubai from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka till July 28. Emirates said in a statement that any traveler who has been to these four Asian countries in the last 14 days will not be allowed to travel to the UAE from anywhere.
The Dubai-based airline said UAE citizens, UAE Golden Visa holders and members of diplomatic missions who follow the new COVID-19 protocol are exempted and can be accepted for travel. Earlier this week, the United Arab Emirates extended its ban on international flights from four countries, where the most infectious delta variant is causing widespread cases of coronavirus disease.
The ban was imposed even before the second wave
The General Civil Aviation Authority of the United Arab Emirates on 24 April suspended flights from India to Dubai in view of the deadly second wave of coronavirus. Emirates said that if your flight has been canceled or affected by route suspension due to COVID-19 restrictions, you do not need to call us immediately for rebooking.

The statement said that passengers should only preserve their tickets and can contact us or their booking office to make a new travel plan when flights resume. The United Arab Emirates has the largest number of migrants from India, followed by Pakistan and Bangladesh. The aviation industry of the Gulf country is heavily dependent on visitors from these Asian countries.
However, international flights were suspended due to the spread of lethal variants in many countries. The number of COVID-19 cases in India has declined in recent times, but authorities around the world are currently concerned about the spread of the delta variant.
