Israel carried out airstrikes in the northern Aleppo province of Syria late on Monday night. The Syrian military official gave this information. An unidentified military official, quoted by state news agency SANA, said Syrian air defenses shot down most of the missiles in the attack just before midnight. The official said that the target is being identified at present.
The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said Israel carried out an airstrike targeting the weapons depot. These weapons depots are linked to Iran-backed militias operating in the Safira region of Aleppo. The group said the attacks were followed by a loud explosion. These weapons depots were present inside Syrian military posts. Activists from the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights are present in Syria, who inform him. These attacks took place on the eve of Eid-ul-Adha.

Israel fears Iranian incursion on its borders
Israel has carried out hundreds of attacks against Iranian-linked military bases in Syria in the past few years. But Israel rarely accepts or discusses such campaigns. Last month, Israel reportedly attacked targets in central Syria. Israel fears Iranian incursions along its northern border and has repeatedly targeted Iran-linked facilities and weapons convoys headed for Hezbollah.
Israel has been carrying out air strikes since the Syrian Civil War
The Israel Defense Forces has not commented on the airstrike. Aleppo is a major city in northern Syria, which borders Turkey. The last reported Israeli airstrike in the region was in September 2020. Israel has been carrying out airstrikes in Syria since the start of the Syrian Civil War in 2011, this is done to prevent Iran from strengthening its hold here.
