The conference was to be held in Islamabad from July 17 to 19 and was to be attended by many high-ranking leaders of Afghanistan. Taliban leaders were not invited to it. Pakistan rejects Taliban’s claim of aid
This year Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated on 21st July. The announcement of the postponement of the conference came after the Foreign Office in another statement rejected Afghanistan’s Vice President Amrullah Saleh’s remarks that the Pakistani Air Force was helping Taliban militants in the border areas of Chaman and Spin Boldak.
For the past few days, there has been a fierce battle between the Taliban and Afghan security forces in the Spin Boldak town of Kandahar. Taliban militants have seized dozens of districts in recent weeks and are now believed to be in control of about a third of the country before the full withdrawal of US and Western troops from Afghanistan on September 11.

Ghani said that last month more than 10,000 jihadi fighters from Pakistan crossed the border and entered his country. He said Taliban militants who were injured during clashes with Afghan forces are being treated in hospitals in Pakistan.
Earlier on Thursday, Afghanistan’s Vice President Saleh tweeted, “Pakistan Air Force has given (a) official warning to the Afghan Army and Air Force that any move to drive out the Taliban from the Spin Boldak area will be faced by the Pakistani Air Force and will be dealt with by the Pakistani Air Force. will be crushed. The Pakistani Air Force is providing air support to the Taliban in some areas. Pakistan’s Foreign Office had vehemently denied the allegations. “We are committed to peace in Afghanistan and will continue to pursue it despite distractions,” the Foreign Office said.
