Now that day is not far, when UP will become the biggest hub of mobile phone manufacturing on the basis of these domestic and foreign companies. Crores of people of the country will be seen talking to mobile handsets of Samsung, Vivo, Oppo and Lava made in UP. This claim is now being made by industrialists associated with big industrial organizations of the country. Officials of these industrial organizations say that under the Digital India campaign in Uttar Pradesh, remarkable progress has been made in the field of mobile manufacturing.
Due to the investment friendly policy of the state government in the field of electronic manufacturing, big companies have made huge investments in the state. In the year 2014, only 60 million mobile handsets were manufactured in the country. Then in the year 2015-16, 11 crore and in 2016-17, 175 crore mobile handsets were manufactured across the country. Now 12 crore mobile handsets will be manufactured soon in Vivo’s factory being set up in Yamuna Expressway Development Authority (YEIDA).
Vivo is investing 7000 crores
Vivo Mobile Pvt Ltd is setting up a factory to manufacture mobile handsets by investing Rs 7000 crore in YEIDA’s Sector 24. Six crore mobile sets will be made in the first phase of this factory being set up on 169 acres of land. In the second phase, the capacity of this factory will be increased so that 120 million mobile handsets can be made every year in this factory. In this factory of Vivo, 60 thousand people will get employment. The government will get revenue in the form of GST from every mobile made in this factory of Vivo.
Oppo is investing 2000 crores
According to the information received from the state government, “Apart from Vivo, China’s big company Oppo Mobile India Private Limited will make smart phones in Greater Noida with an investment of Rs 2000 crores. It has been decided to set up a mobile phone display unit in Holitech India Pvt Ltd in Greater Noida itself. The land has been allotted for the mobile phone display unit to be built with an investment of 1772 crores.
From Lava to other companies are also investing
According to the information, “Lava Electronics is manufacturing mobile handsets by setting up its factory in Noida. Samsung has also set up its factory for mobile phone manufacturing in Noida last year. Apart from this, influenced by the manufacturing policy of the state government in 2017, Fermi Trading Private Limited is setting up a factory to make mobile handsets in Greater Noida and KHY Electronics India Private Limited in Noida. Renowned Chinese company Sanvoda Electronics has also shown interest in setting up a factory to manufacture smartphones, lithium batteries and plastic mobile cases in Greater Noida. By investing 1500 crores, Sanvoda has decided to set up its factory in Greater Noida.
More than half the handset demand will be met by these factories
Seeing these factories of mobile phone manufacturing being set up in UP, it is now being said that the companies which were till now dependent on the manufacturing units of China for mobile handsets in the country, are now making their own brand mobile handsets in Uttar Pradesh. have been. These include companies like Oppo, Vivo, Samsung, Lava and Formi. All these companies will make crores of mobile handsets every year. More than half the demand for mobile handsets in the country will be met from the companies being set up in the state.
