Search engine company Google has announced new features in its Messages app for Android users in India. The company said that its effort is to make navigation in the app easy and hassle-free. For this, two new features will be launched in India in the next few weeks. Google has decided to add categories feature to the Messages app. With this, another new feature is being added, so that users will be automatically deleted 24 hours after receiving the OTP. These features will initially come with support for English and users of phones with Android 8 or newer operating system will get them.
Categories feature
Google is introducing a new feature, which will allow users to put messages into different categories with the help of machine learning. Google has introduced a preview of the feature, in which there will be a category “All” where all the messages will be shown, and this will be the default category. Along with this, there will be some other categories like Personal, in which the conversations with the saved numbers will be listed. Transactions will have messages related to bills and bank transactions. The OTP tab will contain all the OTPs. Apart from this, promotions will be given in the offers tab. These tabs can be accessed at the top of the screen.

OTP messages received by users from other Google features will automatically be deleted after 24 hours. However, users will have to enable this feature. Google said that this will save users’ time as they will not have to delete these messages themselves.
