Galaxy Watch
At MWC 2021, Samsung has announced the most awaited One UI watch software for the upcoming Galaxy smartwatch, based on Galar Wear OS. Google last month announced its partnership with Samsung for the Unified Smartwatch Software Platform at Google I/O 2021. The UI update will first arrive on the Galaxy Watch, which will launch at the Galaxy Unpacked event. The event is expected to happen sometime in August this year.
If watch-compatible apps are downloaded to a connected smartphone, One UI Watch will automatically download apps to the smartwatch. If the user blocks a call or message on the smartwatch, it will be blocked on the smartphone as well. Similarly, the clock style also gets synchronized between the two devices.
According to Samsung, the Unified Platform will allow users to download third-party apps from the Google Play Store directly to the Watch. Users can also download fitness apps like Adidas Running, GOLFBUDDY Smart Caddy, Strava and Swim.com. For a balanced lifestyle, they can download Calm or Sleep Cycle apps or music apps like Spotify, YouTube Music and even use Google Maps for navigation on the Watch.
The new OS will also introduce new tools for designers to create new watch faces for users that “suit their mood, activity and personality”.
According to a statement by Sameer Samat, Vice President of Product Management, Android and Wear, Google, “Samsung and Google have a long history of collaboration and whenever we have worked together, from experience to all for our customers. has been better. That’s certainly true for this new, unified platform, which will be rolling out for the first time on Samsung’s new Galaxy Watch. In association with Samsung, we are thrilled to bring longer battery life, faster performance and an expanded range of apps. Including many new wearable experiences from Google.
Let us tell you that Samsung is planning to launch a new F series smartphone Galaxy F-22 in India, which can be priced under Rs 15,000.
