According to the information, Twitter may face a financial penalty. Apart from this, its officers can be imprisoned for seven years and can also be blocked under section 69A of the IT Rules.
Even before this, once Twitter was warned about showing the wrong map of the country. The government had said that this is a matter related to the sovereignty and integrity of the country. The central government had warned Twitter for showing Jammu and Kashmir and Leh as part of China.
