A leaked UN report on climate change states that by 2050, millions of people will have to face hunger and drought.

A leaked draft report of the United Nations has given a serious warning about climate change. It has been said in this report that the worst is yet to come. In the coming 30 years, humans will have to deal with drought, hunger and extreme heat. The report of the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is due to be released next year. But this report was received by the news agency AFP, which published its results.
This draft report states that an increase in temperature of 1.5 degree Celsius can lead to serious conditions and can have irreversible consequences. According to the report, these results will be visible before 2050 and due to this 130 million people will have to face starvation worldwide. 350 million people will have to face drought and 42 crore people will have to deal with the dreaded heatwave.
Changes will happen in the lives of future generations
It has been said in the report that bad is yet to come. This will affect the lives of our children and grandchildren more than our own. Climate change will fundamentally change life on Earth in the coming decades. Even if humans control the temperature of the earth while controlling greenhouse gas emissions, its effect will still be seen. AFP said that some minor changes should be made to this 4000-page draft report in the coming months.
Emphasis is being given to reduce the temperature through the Paris Agreement
Countries around the world are working to control the Earth’s temperature and deal with climate change related issues. Many treaties have been made for this. There is also a Paris Climate Agreement in this. This agreement was passed in the year 2015 at the annual climate conference of the United Nations. The goal of the Paris Agreement is to keep the increase in global temperature below 2 degrees Celsius from pre-industrial levels. And special efforts are to be made to limit it to 1.5 degree Celsius.
Four goals have been set under the Paris Agreement to reduce carbon emissions. Which are as follows-
1.) Long-term goal of keeping global average temperature rise below 2°C above industrial-time levels.
2.) Aim to limit the increase to 1.5 °C, as this will significantly reduce the risks and effects of climate change.
3.) Agree on the need for governments to reduce global emissions and recognize that developing countries will take longer to do so.
4.) Using science to cut global emissions.
