The Tata Nexon SUV has achieved a major production milestone today. The carmaker has rolled out the 2,00,000th Nexon SUV from its Ranjangaon plant in Pune. It took Tata Motors almost six months to manufacture 50,000 units of the Nexon due to restrictions imposed in the wake of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, otherwise the Nexon could have hit this landmark much earlier.

The XE variant, which used to cost ₹ 7.09 lakh (ex-showroom), is now priced at ₹ 7.19 lakh (ex-showroom). On the other hand, the top-spec trim XZA+ (O) Dual Tone variant will cost Rs 12.95 lakh (ex-showroom), as against Rs 12.79 lakh (ex-showroom) before the hike was implemented.
Tata had to issue a media statement on Wednesday, clarifying that the diesel variant will not be discontinued completely. Tata believes that there is still a strong demand for diesel engines in the sub-compact SUV.
