Cyclone Yaas Latest Updates: Cyclone Yaas, which is expected to make landfall in Odisha on Wednesday afternoon, has turned into a severe cyclonic storm. The Indian Meteorological Department said that at the time of landfall, Cyclone Yaas is expected to be in the category of extremely powerful cyclonic storms. However, some experts believe that the storm is near the ground, so it will not get time to travel a long way and it will not be strong. But experts also believe that it is difficult to make a complete predictive about the storms. Even if the severity of landfall is less, the large population coming in the way of Cyclone Yaas is a matter of concern.
According to IMD, severe cyclonic storm Yaas is expected to cross the northern Odisha-West Bengal coast between Paradip and Sagar Island during the afternoon. Yas will further become fierce, moving north-northeast and reaching the Bay of North-East Bengal close to North Odisha.
