Imran Khan Announced Development Package For Gilgit Baltistan: Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced a package of 370 billion rupees for the development of Gilgit-Baltistan. With this money, the skill of the youth of this place will be developed and the area will be developed as a tourist destination. PM Khan has also visited the capital of the region Gilgit with cabinet ministers. He addressed the leaders of Gilgit-Baltistan and supporters of his party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
Imran Khan said, “We are announcing a package of 370 billion rupees for Gilgit-Baltistan, which will be given in the coming five years.” He said that investing in tourism would rejuvenate Gilgit-Baltistan as it is twice the size of Switzerland and is more beautiful than this European country, which is said to be a tourist paradise (Imran Khan on Gilgit-Baltistan ). PM Khan said, “By developing infrastructure for tourism, Gilgit-Baltistan will not only become rich but will be in a position to support the rest of the country instead of looking to Islamabad for help.”
Visited last year too
Imran Khan said that Gilgit-Baltistan is the best place for food processing factories and hydropower projects, so investment should be made here (Gilgit-Baltistan Tourist Hub). He said that under this development package, attention will also be given to skill development and giving scholarship to the youth here. He said that the government will provide facilities to start operating international flights in the region. Khan had also visited the region during the election campaign last year and promised to give it the status of provisional province.
India had raised objection
After this, his party won the elections and remains in power today. However, India strongly opposed these things said about its share (India on Gilgit-Baltistan). Foreign Ministry spokesman Anurag Shrivastava had then said, ‘India rejects any reshuffle being done by Pakistan in its (India) part, the area which Islamabad has’ illegally and forcibly occupied’. ” He asked the neighboring country of Pakistan to vacate these areas immediately.
