German Chancellor Angela Merkel had earlier expressed her sympathy to the people of India. He said that Germany was immediately preparing an aid campaign. The German military has so far conducted 38 aid operations to other countries or international organizations during the Corona virus epidemic.
European Union is also gathering resources
A senior official of the European Union, a powerful group of 27 countries, said that the EU has already activated its civil defense system to provide immediate help to India, including oxygen and pharmaceutical supplies. Under this system, the EU group plays a central role in the coordination needed to deal with emergencies in Europe and beyond.
