SII CEO Adar Poonawala said in a statement that the cost of this vaccine will be Rs 400 for the state governments, while private hospitals will get it for Rs 600. He said that the shortage of the vaccine will be overcome by increasing the production of the vaccine in the next two months. In the coming days, 50 percent of the vaccine will be given to the central government for vaccination program, while the rest of the vaccine will be given to the state governments and private hospitals.
Price is lower than other countries
Poonawala said that the price of the vaccine has been fixed after the instructions of the Government of India. He said that compared to the cost of vaccines in the world, the price of vaccine in India is much lower. The cost of American vaccines is more than 1500 rupees while the cost of Russian and Chinese vaccines is more than 750 rupees.
Earlier, the government had set a maximum limit of Rs 250 per dose for vaccines in private hospitals. But in this, the company has also announced to take Rs 400 per dose from the state government and Rs 600 per dose from a private hospital. In such a situation, how will the vaccine be available in private hospitals for Rs 250 per dose. Questions are arising about this.
