Meanwhile, major auto manufacturers Maruti Suzuki India (MSI), Toyota Kirloskar Motor and Honda Cars have feared that their sales may decline due to rising cases of Corona virus infection. MSI, the country’s largest car manufacturer, said that auto sales are associated with economic growth as well as consumer sentiment.
Shashank Srivastava, executive director (sales and marketing), Maruti Suzuki India, said, “The deterioration of the COVID-19 is sure to have a negative impact on customer sentiment and also has a negative impact on sales.” He said that it would not be possible to supply cars due to the lockdown, but at the same time it has a psychologically negative effect on the customers.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor also affected
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) Senior Vice President Naveen Soni said the demand and supply schedules of cars have been affected by the local restrictions. He said, “Based on the severity and extent of the restrictions, we will only be able to tell the trends and figures at the end of the month.” We have very good demand at the moment. We are trying to meet customer demand despite local restrictions and lockdown. ”
Sales will be affected due to curfew
Honda Cars India said that it is keeping a close watch on the new situation. Rajesh Goyal, senior vice-president and director (marketing and sales) of the company, said, “The lockdown and weekend curfew will affect sales as showrooms will be closed at some places.” At the moment, we are assessing the situation and taking feedback from different cities in this regard. ”
More than 19 lakh patients of Corona in the country
Let us tell that with a record 2,73,810 new cases of COVID-19 in the country, the total cases of infection have crossed 1.50 crore. According to the data released by the Union Health Ministry on Monday morning, the number of under-treated patients in the country has also gone up to more than 19 lakhs. According to the data, there are a total of 1,50,61,919 cases of COVID-19 in the country and the death toll has risen to 1,78,769 due to the death of 1,619 people within a day.
