It has been written that in earlier times Hindus used to bury their daughters alive as soon as they were born. Hindus have been described in books as enemies of humanity.
A Hindu young doctor, Rajwanti Kumari, while referring to a book read in the ninth and tenth classes, said that in this, Hindus have been described as enemies of Muslims. The book also mentions that both the communities participated in the agitations for a long time, but this could not continue for much longer.
How are books prepared?
Sindh Text Book Board is responsible for preparing text books at official level in Sindh province. The technical director of this institute, Yusuf Ahmed Sheikh, said that the course is given by the ‘Bureau of Curriculum’. According to this, books are prepared. First the authors who write the book are selected from a pool of authors, then they are tasked to write it. The authors write the books according to the syllabus.
He told that a team of experts examines the book. At the same time, after the book is completely ready, the ‘Bureau of Curriculum’ investigates it. The Sindh Text Book Board cannot include things other than the syllabus given by the ‘Bureau of Curriculum’. The ‘Bureau of Curriculum’ order is binding on him and he cannot go beyond the prescribed filed.
What do the youth have to say about these books?
At the same time, the youth of Hindu and Muslim community who read these books say that when they opened their eyes, there was an atmosphere of brotherhood all around. He did not feel any difference in festivals like Eid, Holi and Diwali. But upon leaving the homes and reaching the schools and colleges, he realized how the seeds of hatred are being sown through books. These youths say that these hate books are the responsibility of drawing the line of hatred between the two communities.
