General Narwane met the chiefs of Bangladesh’s armed forces
Army Chief M M Naravane Bangladesh Visit: The Chief of the Indian Army, General MM Naravane, met the Chiefs of Bangladesh Army, Air Force and Navy on Thursday. He held talks with them on matters of mutual interest and bilateral defense cooperation and discussed strengthening the strategic ties between the two neighboring countries (Army Chief MM Naravane). General Narwane also paid tribute to the martyrs of the liberation struggle of Bangladesh in 1971 (1971 Bangladesh). He has arrived in Dhaka on a five-day visit with the aim of further strengthening the close ties between the armed forces of the two countries.
Narwane has reached Dhaka at the invitation of Bangladesh Army Chief General Aziz Ahmed. A few days ago, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the neighboring country. The Indian Army’s Additional Directorate General of Public Information (ADG PI) said on Twitter that General Narwane met Admiral M. Shaheen Iqbal, the head of the Bangladeshi Navy, and discussed them on various topics of mutual interest (MM Naravane Bangladesh Visit). After a conversation with Admiral Iqbal, the Indian Army Chief met the acting Chief of the country’s Air Force.
Met m abul bashar
In another tweet, ADG PI said, ‘General Narwane met Air Vice Marshal M Abul Bashar who is also the acting chief of the Bangladesh Air Force. They discussed the topics of bilateral defense cooperation (India Bangladesh Relations). He told that the Indian Army Chief also met Bangladesh Army Chief General Aziz Ahmed. The Indian High Commission here said that General Narwane met his counterparts and other senior officials, as well as interacted with them on topics of mutual cooperation.
T-55 tank replica gifted
Earlier in the day, General Narwane gifted a replica of the T-55 tank and a photo of the 75/24 mm Howitzer cannon. ADG PI said on Twitter, ‘Original equipment is being gifted to museums in Bangladesh. The T-55 tank and the 75/24 MM Howitzer played a key role in the 1971 liberation struggle (Issues Between India Bangladesh). General Narwane also handed over one lakh doses of COVID-19 vaccine to the Army Chief of Bangladesh. Meanwhile, a multinational military exercise is going on in Bangabandhu Senivas, Bangladesh.
Paid tribute to the martyrs
The Additional Directorate General of Public Information tweeted, ‘General Narwane paid tribute to the martyrs of the freedom struggle on Shikha Anirban on the first day of their five-day visit today.’ He was welcomed with the Guard of Honor at Senakunj. The Indian Army Chief will share his experiences at a seminar on UN peacekeeping operations. He will also attend the concluding ceremony of Shanti Agrasena, a joint military exercise going on from April 4 to 12 under the aegis of the United Nations.
