Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a virtual meeting with Chief Ministers to discuss the status of COVID-19 and vaccination campaign amid the second wave of Corona virus in several states. During this, PM Modi said that a challenging situation is coming again. They ask everyone to give suggestions for dealing with the situation of COVID-19. He said that we need to fight the increase in cases. Many states including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Punjab have left the first wave behind. This is a serious concern. People have become careless. In most states, the administration has also become loose.
Appeal to use corona curfew instead of night curfew
Modi said that despite all the challenges, we have better experience, resources and vaccine. According to them, COVID-19 tracing and tracking is a way to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infection. He told that we should concentrate on Micro Containment Zone. In places where the night curfew has been imposed, they appeal to use the term corona curfew, which will alert people against the corona virus. It would be better to start the curfew at 9 or 10 o’clock at night and till 5 or 6 o’clock in the morning.
The Prime Minister said that they pray for everyone to insist on COVID-19 testing. Their goal is to conduct 70 per cent RT-PCR test. Let the number of positive cases be more, but do the maximum test. Correct sample collection is very important, it can be checked through correct governance. He said that during our discussion, we raised the issue of mortality, we have to ensure that it remains as low as possible. We should keep detailed data about the illness of the patient, etc., which will help in saving their lives.

Putting a vaccine in a state will not yield results: PM Modi
PM Modi said that April 11 to 14 can be celebrated as Teeka Utsav. According to him, we need to spread awareness about the importance of wearing masks once again and following the COVID-19 security protocol. He said that we need to prioritize (vaccine delivery) with what we have. We will not get results by putting the vaccine in one state. It is not right to think in this way. We have to manage thinking about the country.
Modi said that the difficulty today is that we have moved towards vaccination by forgetting about COVID-19 testing. We have to remember that we won the fight against COVID-19 without vaccine. We have to emphasize on testing.
