In fact, while presenting the budget this year, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced to increase the import duty on mobile parts, mobile accessories such as chargers, adapters, gadgets batteries and headphones by 2.5 per cent. It is obvious that due to the expensive mobile parts, the price of the smartphone will also increase. If you look at the last 4 years, the price of all these products has increased by about 10 percent. In such a situation, if you are looking to buy a new phone, then immediately make a purchase, you only have the opportunity today.
Why import duty is being increased
Let us tell you that while presenting the budget, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the government wants to promote domestic electronic manufacturing and it has increased in the last few years. The government’s focus is now towards self-sufficient India. According to the government, due to increase in import duty, the goods coming from outside will become expensive and in such a situation, companies will insist on making it a smartphone in the country and due to the presence of domestic products, the price of the phone will not increase.
How expensive smartphones will be
If you start with a low-budget smartphone, then there can be an increase of up to 100 rupees on their prices. At the same time, the difference between the price of mid budget and premium smartphone can be seen. If the increase in import duty of 2.5 percent is seen, then for a phone of Rs 10,000, you may have to pay up to Rs 10250. You will have to pay more for such a premium phone.
Companies will not provide accessories to reduce prices
The charger has disappeared from the box found with Apple’s Xiaomi smartphone, launched in the last few days. At the same time, some other companies have indicated to remove the charger and other things. It is believed that companies can compensate for the increased price by removing accessories to retain their customers and to maintain the prices. At the same time companies are also emphasizing on wireless charging.
