Coronavirus Update India: There have been 43,846 new cases of coronavirus in India, which has crossed the total number of 1.15 crores in the country. This is the highest increase in cases in a day after 25 November. Out of this, there are more than 3.09 lakh active cases, while 1.11 crore people have been recovered. With the deaths of 197 people, the total number of dead has now risen to more than 1.59 lakh. There have been 27,126 new cases in Maharashtra, while Punjab had 2,578 cases on Sunday.
86.8 percent deaths in six states
In six states, 86.8 percent of new deaths are due to COVID-19 and Maharashtra has been at the forefront with 92 deaths on Sunday. In view of the steady increase in cases in Madhya Pradesh, a one-day lockdown has been imposed in Bhopal. And it will continue every Sunday until the next order. Apart from Bhopal, the same Sunday lockdown will continue in Indore and Jabalpur. The state government also announced that schools and colleges will remain closed in these three cities till 31 March.
In the case of vaccine, more than 4.36 crore doses have been applied so far, out of which more than 16 lakh people have been vaccinated during the last 24 hours.
In just three days more than one lakh infections cases have been reported in the country. In eight states, including Maharashtra and Delhi, there is an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases. Maharashtra, Kerala and Punjab together constitute 76.22 percent of India’s total active cases.

Meanwhile, in Maharashtra, Corona had the highest number of 27,126 cases in a single day so far on Saturday. Maharashtra Tourism and Environment Minister Aditya Thackeray had said that he is Corona positive. At the same time, seeing the increase in corona cases in Mumbai, BMC has decided to conduct more than 47 thousand rapid antigen tests in public places daily. More than 37 thousand new cases have come up in the city during a month.
At the same time, in view of the increasing case in Nagpur, some restrictions have been imposed, which will remain in force from 22 March to 31 March. In Nagpur city, restaurants and eating places will be open till 7 pm, while shops can run till 4 pm. Government and private offices can work with 25 percent employees. Nagpur is in complete lockdown from March 15, which will continue till Sunday.
