Bangladesh Hindus home attack: On Saturday, the police arrested the main suspect who instigated the attacks on the houses of Hindus in Bangladesh. It was said that this attack was carried out by the radical Islamic group regarding the alleged Facebook post of the youth of the Hindu community. But now the real reason is seen in the investigation. The main suspect, Shahid-ul-Islam Swadhin, has made several revelations in the investigation. According to the Police Investigation Bureau (PIB), the independent union is a member of the council and the chairman of the local ward of the Youth League. It has been caught from the Maulvi Bazar district.
The police has so far arrested about 23 people in this case. PIB Special Superintendent of Police Khalid-uj-Zaman said, “Independent shalla is the main suspect in the attacks in Navgaon of Upazila.” On Wednesday, thousands of supporters of Hifazat-e-Islam leader Mamnoon-ul-Haq attacked a village of Hindus at Shalla Upjila in Sumanganj district of Sylhet division. These arrests have been made in this connection. According to the police, Haq’s supporters gathered in Navgaon. Attacked the houses of local Hindus with batons and indigenous weapons, and broke 70-80 houses.
The attack was done because of this
Police said that the main reason for this attack is the water supply given on lease, not the Facebook post. There was a dispute about this body named Jalmahal, which was later given a communal color. PIB Special Superintendent of Police Khaled Uj Zaman said, ‘In two cases filed against the attack, Swadhi is the prime suspect. In the initial investigation, he has given very important information. The issue of Jalmahal is also included in this. However the local police will re-examine this information. Apart from this, local political competition is also being considered as a reason.
The mob entered the village and looted it
On Wednesday, many mobs entered the village and looted several houses. Many people had to leave home to save their lives. Amir Allama Junaid Babunagari of Hifajat-e-Islam, Joint General Secretary Maulana Mufti Mamunul Haque and several other leaders attended a procession at Dera Upazila on Monday. According to local media, a Hindu youth had allegedly written a critical post on Facebook, outraged by Haq’s speech. After this, the mob attacked the village on Wednesday.
Cases registered against 700
Sumiganj district police chief Meijan Urrahman told reporters, ‘Criminal cases have been registered against 700 people. The search for the attackers is going on.
