The Civil Aviation Ministry has called for bids under the Regional Air Connectivity Scheme (UDAN) for 392 routes to improve domestic connectivity. This year, the common citizens of the country are going to complete four years of the UDAN scheme. So far, airline has started at 325 routes and 56 airports under this scheme. It includes 5 helicopters and two aerodynamics services.
Around 392 routes have been proposed under Flight 4.1 bidding process to mark the beginning of the Central Government’s ‘Amrit Ka Mahotsav’ (India @ 75). The statement released on Sunday said that under Flight 4.1, special helicopters and seaplane routes will be taken care of with the addition of smaller airports. Apart from this, some new routes have also been proposed under Sagarmala Seaplane services in consultation with the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways.

The fresh bidding process is expected to be completed in six weeks. The ministry said that airlines will be provided some flexibility in operating to connect small cities and runways. The operation of seaplanes, fixed wing aircraft and helicopters will also be permitted under the Non-Scheduled Operator Permit (NSOP) in the latest round. Usha Padhi, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Civil Aviation said that special flight 4.1 for priority routes in the bid round Bids have been sought. These routes are not yet under flight.
