Yashwant Sinha in TMC: Yashwant Sinha, who was a Union Minister in the Vajpayee government before the Assembly elections in West Bengal, left the BJP on Saturday 13 March and joined the Trinamool Congress (TMC). During Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s prime ministership, he has worked as Union Finance Minister and Union Minister of External Affairs. He targeted the Modi government after joining TMC at a function in Kolkata. Sinha said that in Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s time, there was trust in public opinion, but in today’s time the government is ensuring its victory only through pressure. Sinha said that the Akali and the BJD also left the BJP and now who is with the BJP.
Sinha said that due to the attack on Nandigram on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, she decided to join TMC. Attacking the Modi government, Sinha said that the strength of democracy is in the strength of its institutions, but today all institutions including the judiciary have become weak.

Yashwant Sinha came from administrative service in politics
Yashwant Sinha was earlier in the Indian Administrative Service. After working in the administrative service for 24 years, he resigned from his post in 1984 and entered politics as a member of the Janata Party. In 1988, he became a Rajya Sabha MP. In 1996, Sinha became the BJP’s national spokesperson and in 1998 he was made the Finance Minister. Apart from this, he also worked as a foreign minister in the Vajpayee government. He again became a Member of Parliament a year after his defeat in the 2004 election. In June 2009, he resigned as BJP’s vice president. Sinha is known as the Finance Minister who broke the 53-year-old tradition and started presenting the Indian budget at 11 pm instead of presenting it at 5 pm.
Elections in West Bengal start from March 27
Voting will take place in eight phases in West Bengal. Voting will be held on March 27 in the first phase, April 1 in the second phase, April 6 in the third phase, April 10 in the fourth phase, April 17 in the fifth phase, April 22 in the sixth phase, April 26 in the seventh phase and April 29 in the eighth phase. . The counting of votes will take place on 2 May. The Trinamool Congress government was formed in West Bengal under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee after winning the 294-seat West Bengal Legislative Assembly in the 2016 election riots. Trinamool Congress got 209 seats, BJP 27, Congress 23 and CPI (M) 19 seats.
