Man is a runner and this is a field of life hurdles. Every person learns to run on this ground, but not everyone has the skills to overcome obstacles and keep moving forward. Those who are born with this skill, they do not care under which conditions. Their focus is only on the goal that they have to penetrate. Today’s story is also that of a woman IPS officer who went ahead ignoring all the troubles in her life.
Born in poverty
The grains grown from the fields of such ordinary farmers fill the nation’s stomach, but all the needs of the farmer’s family are not fulfilled. In an environment where their needs are not being met, who would pay attention to Ilma’s education but Ilma was lucky, she got a family who would first meet Ilma’s school needs as soon as the crop money came in her hands. The rest of the house’s needs would have been fulfilled later, before that for Ilma a bundle of pencils, copy and books would have come.
People tightened, mother explained
When Ilma was just 14 years old, her father died. For one thing, when the father rose from the head of poverty from above, how could Ilma move forward, but his mother worked in the fields and raised her and her younger brother. The family’s spending on Ilma’s studies in this way was astonishing to the people there. People tighten their heads and say, ‘It is not good to put a girl on the head, after all, one day she has to become a stranger.’ Where do people’s strings matter when your family stands with you? Ilma’s mother always explained to her that keep moving forward, struggle and work hard. She always taught Ilma that no matter the difficulties, but like Arjun, you should focus only on the eye of the fish.
Since childhood, she was fearless and courageous
The person who learns to face the circumstances of life is not afraid of anyone again. Ilma’s circumstances also made her fearless. Once she reached the DM’s office in connection with the scholarship. The guard standing there, thinking of Ilma as a child, said, ‘Go, bring some elder with you, there is no work of children here.’ Ilma did not like this thing. Had there been any other child, I would have probably returned from there, but Ilma did not do so, she showed courage and went straight into DM’s office. Perhaps DM should have been angry on this matter, but on the contrary DM smiled at this act of Ilma. When Ilma explained the reason for his arrival, the DM also signed the form. Along with this, he said something to Ilma that showed a new direction in the life of Ilma. He said, “Join Ilma Tum Civil Services!”.
Ilma might not have noticed that much then. She moved to Delhi for further studies. From here Ilma received a BA Honors degree in Philosophy from St. Stephens College, Delhi University. He then received a scholarship and a chance to study at Oxford University, England. But the condition of the house was that Ilma did not even have the money to travel by air. As soon as she came to England by arranging money and a new chapter in the life of the daughter of a poor farmer started from here.
Succeeded, but the country did not forget
After completing her studies at Wolfson College, Oxford University, England, Ilma moved to New York to pursue work experience. The daughter of a poor farmer who had come from a backward area, having access to it was nothing short of a miracle in itself. Now what did Ilma want, everything was with her. She was studying abroad, she had a good job offer, Ash O comfort was abroad, there was a golden future ahead. What else does a human want more than this, but Ilma seemed to lack something. He was missing his country, his people.
Whenever she would come home during the holidays, she would look proud of her people in her eyes. He was happy that his daughter had crossed seven seas in an airplane. Ilma saw the hard work and troubles of her people. She wondered what the use of her reading so much would be if she could not use her people. With this thinking, Ilma made up her mind to return to her country again.
How a woman made a place in the Shantaraj, which is considered to be the sport of men.
Dream fulfilled
After coming here, Ilma saw that everyone is in trouble and there is no one to help them. People used to come to Ilma for small things. In such a situation, she thought that she can help all these by going to civil services. His brother also encouraged him and Ilma came out to give a new direction to his life. Ilma started preparing for UPSC. He began tracking events around him. In the Civil Services Examination, Ilma chose Philosophy as an optional subject and started repeating books she had read during her B.A. His room was completely filled with books and notes. Only one thought came in his mind while he was asleep and that he had to pass this test.
It was the year 2017 when Ilma achieved her goal. His hard work paid off and 26-year-old Ilma passed the UPSC examination with a rank of 217. She could have chosen the Indian Foreign Service if she wanted, but according to her she had to water her roots, do good work for her country. Because of this he chose IPS. Ilma got Himachal Pradesh cadre and today she is serving her country and her people.
