Strong competition is currently going on in telecom companies. In November, Bharti Airtel has managed to add 44 lakh new customers. While its rival company Reliance Jio has increased by 19 lakh subscribers. Vodafone Idea Ltd -Vi received a shock of 2.9 lakh subscribers.
Vodafone has received the biggest shock. With this, its market share has decreased by 25.10 percent. While the market share of Airtel has increased and it has increased to 28.97 per cent. According to data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India -Trai, Reliance Jio is the largest telecom operator in the country by market share.
TRAI said that all service areas except West Bengal Rajasthan, Kolkata, Jammu and Kashmir and Mumbai have seen an increase in the number of wireless subscribers during the month of November. Madhya Pradesh Service Area has seen a growth of more than 1 per cent customers in the month of November.
Despite having the largest market share in the wireless segment, Reliance Jio’s active subscribers were the lowest among the top 3 telecom companies. Jio Active subscribers were 79.55 per cent of the total customers as of 30 November. Airtel had 89.01 per cent and Vodafone Idea 96.63.
Jio tops the wireless or mobile broadband segment. As of 30 November, the company had 40.82 crore customers. The second number is Airtel. It had 17.17 crore subscribers as of 30 November. Vodafone Idea had 12.96 crore subscribers. BSNL had 1.84 crore subscribers till 30 November. Most mobile users use the Internet. Let us know that Reliance Jio only offers 4G services. According to TRAI, 50 percent customers of Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea are still running on 2G.
In the wireline fixed-line segment, total subscribers increased from 1.99 crore at the end of October to 2.07 crore in November. Of this, BSNL and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) have a market share of 51.86 per cent. Airtel has the largest share in the fixed line segment after BSNL and is 22.51 per cent. After this, Jio has a market share of 12.55 per cent.
In the wireline segment, Reliance Jio launched cheap plans in August 2020 and has started adding customers. Jio added 195,637 subscribers in November and Airtel added 54,499 subscribers in the same month. While 139,326 to BSNL and 22,691 to MTNL, fixed-line customers have received a setback.
