Covid-19 Vaccine Update: Those who have recovered from COVID-19 are suggested to take a vaccine shot to develop a strong immunity. Those who have had positive tests should get vaccinated 14 days after the symptoms are gone. All beneficiaries will have to register officially for vaccination. Apart from this, the vaccine will not be given to those who do not show photo ID at the place. According to the report of the Indian Express, these are the answers to some of the main questions of the Union Health Ministry regarding vaccination. Answers to 21 questions have been kept for the people.
300 million people will be vaccinated in the initial phase
The government hopes that in the initial phase about 30 crore beneficiaries will be vaccinated on priority. And for the first time, many vaccine candidates will be applied for an infection. However, the ministry said that the entire program of vaccination has to be completed with one type of vaccine as different COVID-19 vaccines cannot be interchanged.
The ministry said that it would be suggested that the recovered patient also take the vaccine. This will help in developing strong immune response against the disease. According to the ministry, people who have been found positive should take the vaccine 14 days after the symptoms go away. Because they will increase the risk of spreading to other people instead of vaccination.
Apart from this, a person will have to take two doses of the vaccine in an interval of 28 days to complete the vaccination. Antibody levels typically develop two weeks after the second dose of the covid-19 vaccine.
Who will get the vaccine first?
The government also reiterated that the vaccine would be given to priority groups in the initial phase – health and frontline workers. Depending on the availability of the vaccine, people over the age of 50 can also be started early. It has been told that people with more than 50 will be divided into two sub-groups – those 60 and over will be vaccinated first and 50-60 after that.
It says that the eligible beneficiaries will be informed about the place and time of vaccination through their registered mobile number. In the case of health and frontline workers, the ministry has said that their families will be given the vaccine at later stages. The ministry said that it will be mandatory for the beneficiaries to inform the government, whether they have been vaccinated in any government program or private facility. It states that registration of beneficiary is mandatory for vaccination. Only after this the place and time will be shared.
The government has also told some common bad reactions – fever, body ache can occur after a person gets vaccinated. He said that people are advised to rest at the vaccination center for at least half an hour after taking the vaccine. If there is any problem, inform the nearest Health Authority / ANM / ASHA.
