Six tiny five-day-old cocker spaniel puppies had been rescued after police chanced upon a person about to dump them in a plastic bag by the roadside.
The puppies had been so younger their eyes hadn’t opened when officers discovered them after listening to squealing coming from the bag.
PCs Liam Venon and Luke Howie made the invention after they noticed a suspicious parked automotive on the A689 in County Durham within the early hours of Saturday morning.
They noticed the motive force standing outdoors the automotive, swinging a sealed plastic bag on the sting of a financial institution.
After they placed on their blue lights and pulled up behind the automotive, they noticed the person throw the bag on to the passenger seat after which fake to verify one among his tyres.
The officers opened the bag to find the six tiny puppies, who PC Venon mentioned had been “riddled with fleas”.
They questioned the motive force on the roadside and organized for the litter to be taken to an area vet for remedy.

The man, in his 50s, was arrested on suspicion of animal cruelty, cash laundering and trafficking in a managed drug and brought into custody.
He has since been launched on bail whereas inquiries proceed.
The man’s home was additionally searched and the puppies’ dad and mom had been rescued and reunited with the litter.
PC Venon mentioned the rescue was a case of “right place, right time”.
