The Income Tax Department has issued refunds of more than 1.29 lakh crore to 39 lakh taxpayers so far this financial year. This includes personal income tax refund (PIT) of Rs 34,820 crore and corporate tax of Rs 94,370 crore which came during this period. The Income Tax Department said in a tweet that between 1 April 2020 and 3 November 2020, CBDT has issued refunds of more than Rs 1,29,190 crore to 39.49 lakh taxpayers.
According to the Income Tax Department, a corporate tax refund of Rs 34,820 crore has been issued in 37,55,428 cases and Rs 94,370 crore in 1,93,059 cases.

Let us know that when it is submitted after filing the income tax return and its verification, then the Income Tax Department starts investigating it. If your claim is accepted, then the refund is refunded to you directly through your bank account or check with the amount of interest. However, processing of ITR takes some time.
- Click on the option given on the Dashboard on the Tax Department website. After this, click on ‘View Return and Form’. After clicking, go to the Income Tax Return page, click on ‘Income Tax Return’. After going to the income tax return page, you will see that either your ITR has been processed or is pending for verification or verification.
- If it shows that your ITR has not been verified yet, with the help of your Aadhaar, you can request to verify again or sign the signed ITR-V form from the common post or speed post of the Indian Post Office. Send it to tax CPC office.

- Until written successfully verified. Till then you will have to wait for your refund to return.
- If you have not processed ITR, then the taxpayer can file a complaint petition to CPC or Assessing Officer. With the help of this petition, the taxpayer can request the tax department to speed up its ITR processing.
