Elon Musk has stated he’ll resign as CEO of Twitter “as soon as I find someone foolish enough to take the job”.
The Twitter boss stated following that he would “just run the software and servers teams”.
It comes after Musk launched a ballot asking customers for his or her verdict on his tenure, saying he would “abide by the results”.
As the deadline handed on Sunday, 57.5% had voted for him to depart.
The ballot was an obvious try to attract a line below his controversial reign.
Roughly 20 minutes after he posed the query, because the ‘sure’ vote edged forward, he added: “As the saying goes, be careful what you wish, as you might get it.”
Responding to a remark, he stated: “The question is not finding a CEO, the question is finding a CEO who can keep Twitter alive.”
He added: “No one wants the job who can actually keep Twitter alive. There is no successor.”
Fighting Twitter’s social media rivals
Over the weekend Musk turned on the platform’s social media rivals by banning the promotion of their accounts on Twitter.
It meant customers may have their accounts suspended, locked or deleted in the event that they posted hyperlinks to their profiles on different social media websites, together with Meta-owned Facebook and Instagram, in addition to Mastodon or Donald Trump’s Truth Social.
But, the corporate later rowed again on its coverage, with tweets saying the transfer and the assist web page outlining the rule being deleted.

Twitter revealed a ballot asking: “Should we have a policy preventing the creation of or use of existing accounts for the main purpose of advertising other social media platforms?”
‘No’ obtained 87% of the vote.
Musk promised to enhance Twitter when he took cost by ridding it of faux accounts and enhancing free speech.
But his actions have misplaced many main advertisers amid concern about its path and its capacity to pay curiosity on the $13bn (£11bn) debt Musk took on to purchase it.
