No Money for Terror: Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated the world must unite towards overt and covert terrorism. He was addressing ‘No Money for Terror’ ministerial convention on Counter-Terrorism Financing in New Delhi on Friday. About 450 delegates from internationally are in attending the third such convention on Counter-Terrorism Financing.
“Uprooting terrorism needs a larger, proactive, systemic response, If we want our citizens to be safe, we cannot wait until terror comes to our homes. We must pursue terrorists, break their support networks and hit their finances,” he stated whereas delivering the inaugural deal with.

Need to crack down on proxy struggle
PM Modi additionally spoke about state-sponsored terror and the necessity to crack down on such type of proxy struggle. He stated organisations and people that attempt to create sympathy for terrorists should even be remoted.
“Certain countries support terrorism as part of their foreign policy. They offer political, ideological and financial support to them… There must be a cost imposed on such countries,” he stated.

India fought again bravely
PM Modi additionally stated although India has suffered for many years as a consequence of terrorism, it has fought again bravely.
“We consider that even a single attack is one too many. Even a single life lost is one too many. So, we will not rest till terrorism is uprooted,” the prime minister stated.
“The gangs have deep links with terrorists. The money made in gun running, drugs and smuggling is being pumped into terrorism… Action against organised crimes is extremely important in the fight against terrorism.” The PM asserted the nation won’t relaxation until terrorism is uprooted and added that the long-term affect of terrorism is especially onerous on the poor and native nations.
He stated all terrorist assaults deserve equal outrage and motion. Only a uniform, unified, zero-tolerance method can defeat terrorism, he stated.
450 delegates on the convention
About 450 delegates from internationally, together with Ministers, Heads of Multilateral organisations and Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Heads of Delegations, are collaborating within the convention.
There shall be 4 periods on the Conference that can concentrate on ‘Global Trends in Terrorism and Terrorist Financing’, ‘Use of Formal and Informal Channels of Funds for Terrorism’, ‘Emerging Technologies and Terrorist Financing’ and ‘International Co-operation to Address Challenges in Combating Terrorist Financing’.
Amit Shah to conclude meet
Home Minister Amit Shah will attend the concluding session of the convention on Saturday.
“The conference will build on gains and learnings of the previous two conferences (held in Paris in April 2018 and in Melbourne in November 2019) and will work towards enhancing global cooperation to deny finances to terrorists and access to permissive jurisdictions to operate,” the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) stated.
