Six individuals have been charged within the Essex County jailhouse brawl that despatched two inmates and two correctional officers to the hospital final month.
“This incident was one of the most serious that has occurred in my six years as sheriff. Six inmates, some armed with shanks, attacked a fellow inmate and a violent altercation ensued,” Essex Sheriff Kevin Coppinger stated in a Wednesday assertion following the fees.
