Delhi authorities will present talent coaching and academic help to Tihar jail inmates to assist them reintegrate higher with the society after completion of their jail time period, Manish Sisodia, Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister, Delhi said on Thursday.
In order to facilitate the programme, Delhi authorities college lecturers will research the schooling background and potential expertise of the inmates.
Sisodia held a gathering with the director common (Prison) Sandeep Goel; Ashok Kumar, secretary schooling, and senior officers of the schooling division, together with the lecturers working with jail inmates, on Thursday to debate the main points of the mission.
“Our government believes that right education is the only way to set the right mindset among people and help them lead a better and meaningful life. There are nearly 20,000 inmates in Tihar jail,” Sisodia stated.
Sisodia, who can be Delhi’s schooling minister, directed the lecturers to work together very diligently and sensitively with the inmates. “Under this project, our teachers will talk to the inmates to understand their educational background and skilling needs and accordingly new programmes will be designed for them. Further, the study will also help the government understand the gaps in the education system, due to which crimes are still happening in the society,” he added.
Accodrfing to Sisodia, lecturers ought to be certain that they can perceive the inmates’ distinctive expertise throughout their dialog and spotlight their areas of curiosity for working in future.
Delhi authorities already runs an schooling programme in Tihar jail and its extra complexes in Rohini and Mandoli, the place authorities lecturers have been appointed by the Directorate of Education and are taking courses weekly. “Now these teachers will be supporting the government with this study,” he added.
