The Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) has up to date its code so as to add better inclusivity in promoting depictions. This clause is now up to date as a part of Chapter 3 pertaining to commercials that trigger hurt. As per the modification, the clause now states that, “No advertisement shall be permitted which (subsection b) derides any individual or groups on the basis of race, caste, color, religion, gender, body shape, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, physical or mental conditions or nationality.”
ASCI goals to make sure that its tips hold tempo with the ever-evolving society.
